I consider myself blessed in many ways. I am honored to participate in charity events that support people --especially children-- who are not as fortunate as myself, or who have fallen upon difficult times. This page is intended to share information about some of the events and causes with which I am involved.
Reelin' for Justin
On Saturday, August 29th, I was privileged to participate in a charity fundraiser - a fishing tournament for a young boy named Justin who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Along with the support of my sponsor, Monster Energy Drinks, we helped the event raise over $4,400. The proceeds from the event were donated to Justin's family to help them with the staggering expenses associated with his medical situation.
Justin Jacobson, an avid bass fisherman, was diagnosed on May 30, 2009 with a large mass in his liver. It turned out to be Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma, a rare type of liver cancer most common in children between the ages of 10 to 15. Justin is currently in St. Joseph Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona, where he has received a liver transplant. Justin is feeling well right now and is expected to be release from the hospital very soon. To follow Justin’s story, read the latest update: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jdjacobson

Kevin Jones
Hello Kevin,
I wanted to express a sincere THANK YOU from the Jacobson Family and me for your generous donation and participation in the “Reel’n for Justin” event on Saturday, August 29, 2009. Together we were able to raise over $4,400 for the family to help out with their medical expenses.
Just a short update on Justin, he is doing great after receiving his new liver on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. The doctors are telling Kevin and Shannon (Justin’s parents) that he should be released from the hospital sometime next week.
Our prayers go out to the family of the little girl that lost her life, so that Justin could continue with his. It’s a sad but joyful day for these families that most of us will never understand.
Again thank you for your support of this young angler and his family. Without you, we could not have made a difference in Justin’s life.
Best regards,
Edward Chin
